Benghazi, June 23, 2026 (LANA) – The Libyan government appointed by the House of Representatives issued a decree on Tuesday banning the entry of Sudanese, Eritrean, Ethiopian, and Somali nationals into Libyan territory through all land, sea, and air ports.
The decree exempts members of diplomatic and consular missions accredited to Libya and their families, as well as those working in education, medicine, and paramedical professions, provided they obtain the necessary official approvals and employment contracts from the relevant authorities in accordance with applicable legislation.
The decree also tasks the Ministry of Interior with coordinating with relevant authorities to implement its provisions immediately at all ports of entry and to take necessary measures against violators, including the deportation of nationals covered by the decree who do not possess valid residency permits.
