Tripoli, June 23, 2026 (LANA) – The Central Bank of Libya announced that the recently discovered cyber incident has been fully contained, confirming that no breach affecting balances or financial assets was detected.

In a statement issued Tuesday, the bank added that a comprehensive investigation into the incident was conducted, and that recovery and restoration efforts are proceeding according to plan, with specialized teams continuing to work to ensure the readiness and security of systems.

The statement indicated that the bank has not detected any confirmed signs of a breach affecting accounts, balances, or financial assets related to the bank's operations and those of related banking institutions, based on the extensive assessments completed to date.

The Central Bank stressed that the security of data and banking operations is a top priority, and ongoing monitoring supports this assessment. It affirmed its full commitment to maintaining the continuity, stability, and reliability of its operations and services.

The Central Bank confirmed that security measures have been strengthened as part of the recovery efforts, reflecting its commitment to protecting the financial system and maintaining the confidence of banks and related entities.
