Tripoli, June 23, 2026 (LANA) – The European Union Ambassador to Libya, Nicola Orlando, announced an action plan to expedite Libya's removal from the EU's Air Safety List.

Orlando tweeted, "We had a productive meeting today in Tripoli with the Minister of Transportation, Mohamed Salem Al-Shahoubi, and the Head of the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority, Mohamed Abdel Salam Shlibek. We reviewed the progress made so far and agreed on an action plan to accelerate the removal of #Libya from the EU's Air Safety List."

He added, "I was particularly impressed by the new Integrated Control Center, which is a model of effective digitalization and modern management of the civil aviation sector."
