Al-Menfi meets with members of the Joint Military Committee (5+5) for the western region

Tripoli, June 22, 2026 (LANA) – The Head of the Presidential Council and Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, Mohammed al-Manfi, met today, Monday, in Tripoli, with members of the Joint Military Commission (5+5) representing the western region.

According to the Presidential Council's media office, the meeting reviewed the practical procedures and implementation steps taken in coordination with the General Staff, with the aim of advancing the project to unify the military institution and enhance coordination among the various military units.

The meeting also discussed the most prominent results and recommendations of the structured dialogue overseen by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL). Discussions focused on mechanisms for utilizing these outcomes and their role in supporting efforts to unify the military institution and strengthen security and stability.

The participants emphasized the importance of continuing joint work and intensifying efforts to achieve military consensus, which would contribute to supporting the political process and preserving the country's security and unity.
