Libya tops talks among Egyptian, Saudi Arabian, Turkish, and US officials.

Cairo, 21 June 2026 (Lana)—Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty held a four-party meeting yesterday with his Saudi and Turkish counterparts, as well as the US President's Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos.

According to Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Tamim Khallaf, the meeting addressed several regional issues and crises of mutual concern, most notably the developments in Libya, where they emphasized the importance of supporting efforts aimed at preserving Libya's unity and respecting its sovereignty, advancing the political process, and unifying Libyan state institutions.

The meeting also included an in-depth exchange of views on several regional issues, including the Iranian file in light of the memorandum of understanding reached between the US and Iran, and stressed the importance of building upon this significant step to contribute to reducing tensions and enhancing security and stability in the region.

He added that the meeting also addressed the latest developments in the Palestinian issue, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip, as well as the situation in Africa and ways to strengthen cooperation and joint coordination to support security and stability on the continent.
