Cairo 21 June 2026 (Lana) The latest developments in Libya were at the forefront of talks between the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Badr Abdel-Aty, and his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, held on the sidelines of the Four-Party Regional Meeting hosted in Cairo, where the two sides discussed the latest developments in Libya and ways to enhance joint coordination on regional issues of common interest.
The official page of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that the meeting also discussed developments in the Palestinian territories, Sudan, Syria, and Lebanon, in addition to updates related to the Iranian issue and the situation in the Red Sea and the Horn of Africa.
The two ministers also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and exchanged views on the challenges and developments in the region.
They emphasized Egypt's and Saudi Arabia's commitment to continuing coordination and consultation on various regional issues to support security and stability and enhance joint Arab action.
