MOF Receives Copies of Ambassadors’ Credentials.

Tripoli, 14 June 2026 (Lana)—Director of the General Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taher Hussein, received copies of the credentials of several new ambassadors yesterday at the Ministry's headquarters in Tripoli, ahead of their formal presentation to the President of the Presidential Council, in preparation for their accreditation as ambassadors of their respective countries to Libya.

The ceremony was attended by the Director of the European Affairs Department, Abubakr Al-Tawil; the Director of the Arab Affairs Department, Najib Al-Rayani; the Director of the Asian and Australian Affairs Department, Mohammed Rabha; the Director of the Americas Affairs Department, Alaa Al-Din Al-Bin Rajab; and the Director of the African Affairs Department, Nasser Bouzid.

The Director of the General Protocol Department, in the presence of the department directors, received the following new ambassadors:

- Mr. Sidi Yahya Al-Murabit, Ambassador of Mauritania.

- Mr. Abdifatah Sheikh Ahmed Abdul-Manan, Ambassador of Somalia.

- Mr. Arvid Andreas, Ambassador of Germany.

- Mr. Hilal bin Abdullah bin Ali Al-Sinani, non-resident ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Libya.

- The Non-Resident Ambassador of the Vatican to Libya is Wojciech Zalewski.

- The ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the United Mexican States, José Ignacio Madrazo Bolívar.

Following the presentation of copies of credentials, Taher Hussein held a meeting with the new ambassadors, welcomed and congratulated them on their appointments as ambassadors of their respective countries to Libya, and affirmed the Ministry's readiness to provide the necessary support to enable them to fully carry out their diplomatic duties.

The meeting also included discussions on the bilateral relations between Libya and the ambassadors' countries, ways to enhance joint cooperation in various areas, and several issues of common interest at both the bilateral and multilateral levels, all aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations and serving shared interests.
