Al-Baour meets with Greek Deputy Foreign Minister

Tripoli, June 10, 2026 (LANA) – Taher Al-Baour, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Government of National Unity, met today in Tripoli with Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandra Papadopoulou and her accompanying delegation to discuss maritime border demarcation and the development of cooperation in the economic, energy, and development sectors.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and prospects for developing cooperation in the economic, energy, and development sectors. They also explored opportunities to expand partnership and cooperation in various areas of mutual interest.
The two sides reviewed the work of the joint Libyan-Greek technical committee for maritime border demarcation and affirmed their commitment to continuing constructive dialogue in a positive spirit, based on the principles of international law. They also agreed to follow up on files related to bilateral cooperation, which will contribute to strengthening relations between the two countries and consolidating the foundations of a partnership based on shared interests and mutual respect.
The two sides exchanged views on developments in the regional and international arenas and issues of common interest.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue consultations and coordination in a manner that serves the common interests of the two friendly countries and contributes to strengthening bilateral cooperation and supporting stability and prosperity in the region.
