Egyptian-American talks on developments in Libya and common regional issues.

Tripoli, 9 June 2026 (Lana)—Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty, during a phone call with the U.S. President's Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos, discussed several regional issues of mutual interest, including the developments in Libya.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry's official page stated that the two parties exchanged views on regional developments, focusing on the Libyan situation and prospects for supporting stability in the country.

Abdel-Aty emphasized Egypt's steadfast support for Libya’s unity and stability, stressing the importance of unifying national institutions and reaching a comprehensive political settlement through a Libyan-led process.

The Minister also stressed the need for creating the conditions for holding simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible, which would contribute to strengthening stability and fulfilling the aspirations of the Libyan people.
