Al-Menfi meets with the Mauritanian Foreign Minister.

Tripoli, 8 June 2026 (Lana)—President of the Presidential Council Mohamed Al-Menfi met yesterday evening with the Mauritanian Foreign Minister, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, in his capacity as a special envoy of Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani.

The Presidential Council's communication office stated that the Mauritanian minister delivered a written message from President Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani to Al-Manfi.

The meeting discussed prospects for developing bilateral cooperation and strengthening the partnership between the two countries in various areas in a way that serves their common interests and meets the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples for greater integration and constructive cooperation.

During the meeting, Al-Menfi emphasized Libya's commitment to consolidate cooperative relations with Mauritania and to propel them towards broader horizons, reflecting the historical and fraternal ties that bind the two countries and enhancing opportunities for cooperation and integration.
