PC calls on all parties to participate in future political initiatives.

Tripoli, 8 June 2026 (Lana)—The Presidential Council (PC), headed by Mohamed Al-Menfi, called for the inclusion of all active political and social forces in any future political arrangements or initiatives, which would enhance the chances of reaching sustainable national agreements that have broad national consensus and societal support and contribute to consolidating stability and protecting the country’s unity and institutions.

This came during the regular meeting of the PC, held yesterday, which was dedicated to following up on the latest political developments and exploring ways to advance the political process towards a comprehensive national settlement that ends the division and paves the way for achieving the desired national goals.

According to a statement published by its media office late Sunday evening, the Council stressed the importance of broadening national participation in all upcoming political tracks and initiatives, which would support the prospects for consensus among the various political and social components and strengthen stability in the country.

This meeting coincided with the announcement by UNSMIL of the conclusion of the work of the "Structured Dialogue" members, which was dedicated to reviewing the final recommendations aimed at creating the necessary conditions for holding national elections and unifying Libyan state institutions.

The statement quoted the head of the UNSMIL, Hanna Tetteh, as affirming during the closing session that the next phase of the political process in Libya will remain based on efforts led by the Libyans themselves and that these efforts will contribute to pushing towards the implementation of the recommendations and fundamental reforms that resulted from the Structured Dialogue, whether through the existing institutions or during the post-election phase.
