Ben Ghalbon Follows Up on Power Plant Fuel Supply in Preparation for Summer

Tripoli, June 7, 2026 (LANA) – Minister of State for Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs, Mohamed Ben Ghalbon, met today, Sunday, with the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Masoud Suleiman, the Director of the General Electricity Company, Abdullah Hamouda, and the Head of the Executive Team for Presidential Initiatives and Strategic Projects, Mustafa Al-Manea, to discuss the supply of natural gas, diesel, and heavy fuel oil to power plants. This meeting was part of efforts to enhance the stability of the electricity grid during the summer season.

The meeting addressed the current supply situation, as well as any obstacles and mechanisms for urgently resolving them to ensure the continued efficient operation of power plants and to meet the increased demand for energy during peak periods.

The meeting also discussed strengthening coordination between the National Oil Corporation and the General Electricity Company to secure the fuel and gas needs of power plants and ensure a consistent supply to support the stability of the electricity grid in all regions.
