Al-Baour meets Chinese Ambassador

Tripoli, June 3, 2026 (LANA) – The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, met today, Wednesday, with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Libya, Ma Xueliang, to discuss ways to strengthen and develop cooperation between the two countries in a manner that serves the common interests of the two friendly nations.
This meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Tripoli, addressed Libyan-Chinese relations and cooperation, and prospects for expanding them in various fields. They also discussed a number of issues of common interest at the regional and international levels.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination, consultation, and mutual support in regional and international forums, which will enhance joint cooperation and contribute to serving the mutual interests of both countries.
They also stressed the need to intensify diplomatic communication and strengthen bilateral cooperation in various sectors, which will support efforts toward stability and development and open broader horizons for partnership between Libya and China.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the strength of Libyan-Chinese relations and their continuous development, expressing their aspiration to continue joint work during the next stage in a way that enhances bilateral cooperation and achieves the common interests of the two countries.
