6+6) Joint Committee affirms its commitment to the Libyan-Libyan dialogue process.

Tripoli, 3 June 2026 (Lana) (6+6) Joint Committee of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the High Council of State (HCS) affirmed its commitment to the Libyan-Libyan dialogue process, considering it as the best path to achieving national consensus that will lead to free and fair elections and end the transitional phases.

This came during a consultative meeting held by the committee to continue discussions on certain issues related to election laws, according to the HCS's media office.

The two parties, according to the office, emphasised their commitment to the Libyan-Libyan dialogue process as the best path to achieve national consensus that will lead to free and fair elections, end the transitional phases, contribute to consolidating stability, building state institutions, and supporting sustainable development.

The HCS stated that this falls within the competencies assigned to it under the Constitutional Declaration and the Libyan Political Agreement, taking into account the proposals contained in the report of the Advisory Committee (Committee of 20).
