Al-Zubi Meets with Tetteh.

Tripoli, 2 June 2026 (Lana)—Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Abdussalam Al-Zubi, received the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General in Libya, Hanna Tetteh, and her accompanying delegation at his ministry's office, as part of ongoing coordination and consultation on issues related to security and stability in the country.

The meeting highlighted the Ministry’s efforts to support stability and enhance security, where Tetteh commended the pivotal role of the Ministry in the national landscape and its growing contribution in addressing security and military matters based on institutional work and national responsibility.

The meeting also addressed the issue of unifying the military institution, considered a key national priority, where they emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to unify the military institution, strengthening national unity, preserving sovereignty, and paving the way for a more stable and secure phase.

This meeting came within the framework of ongoing efforts to enhance communication between the ministry and the UNSMIL and to support stabilization efforts and the consolidation of the state and its institutions, including supporting endeavors to unify the military institution on professional and national foundations.
