Tripoli, June 1, 2026 (LANA) – The Head of the Administrative Control Authority, Abdullah Qaderbouh, met today, Monday, with the Head of the Finance, Budget, and Planning Committee of the House of Representatives, Omar Tantoush, to discuss the issue of illegal immigration and the financing of the oil sector.

The Authority stated on its official page that the meeting addressed the repercussions of illegal immigration and rejected any attempts to settle migrants within Libyan territory, in addition to following up on the fuel sector and its financing.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized that the issue of illegal immigration represents a growing security, economic, and social challenge. They stressed the need to take urgent and decisive measures to strengthen border security, combat human trafficking networks, and counter any arrangements or policies aimed at imposing a new demographic reality that affects national identity or places additional burdens on the state.

The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the fuel sector, including spending and consumption indicators, emphasizing the importance of strengthening oversight of the fuel distribution system, reducing waste and smuggling, and supporting the National Oil Corporation to ensure stable production and sustainable supplies.

The meeting concluded by stressing the importance of coordination between the General Authority for Oil Resources, the House of Representatives, and relevant authorities to protect national resources, safeguard national security, and address priority issues in the public interest.
