Tripoli, 31 May 2026 (Lana)—Minister of Water Resources, Hosni Awidan, met with the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, Daler Juma, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in water resources management, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development.

This meeting took place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on the sidelines of the Libyan delegation's participation in the Fourth High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action, "Water for Sustainable Development 2018-2028," where two ministers discussed the conference's outcomes and prospects for joint cooperation between their countries.

The Tajik minister commended Libya's active participation in the conference and praised the Libyan delegation's contribution to the African Forum held as part of it.

Both sides emphasized their interest in developing cooperation in integrated water resources management and dam studies and construction, as well as exchanging expertise and experiences and building capacity through training.
