Tripoli, May 24, 2026 (LANA) – Minister of Economy and Trade, Suhail Boushiha, met today with the Turkish Ambassador to Libya, Guven Begiç, to discuss the latest developments in economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting addressed the progress made in regularizing the status of Turkish companies operating in Libya and completing the related technical and regulatory procedures. This aims to enhance trust and create a stable business environment that supports the return of projects and the resumption of joint economic activity.

The two sides also discussed preparations for the upcoming meeting of the Libyan-Turkish Joint Committee, mechanisms for developing trade between the two countries, and opening up broader avenues for partnership and investment. This serves mutual interests and supports development and economic cooperation between Libya and Turkey.

Boushiha emphasized the importance of building upon the strategic economic relations between the two countries and developing cooperation in various sectors to strengthen economic stability and support the private sector, trade, and investment.
