Ben Ghalbon meets Japanese Ambassador

Tripoli, May 21, 2026 (LANA) – The Minister of State for Government and Cabinet Affairs in the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Ben Ghalbon, met today, Thursday, with the Japanese Ambassador to Libya, Shimura Izuro, to discuss ways to expand cooperation between the two countries and strengthen institutional partnership.
The Japanese Embassy in Libya stated on its official page that the meeting addressed an exchange of views on Japanese-Libyan relations and ways to expand areas of cooperation to meet the priorities of the current phase and enhance institutional communication between the two sides.
During the meeting, Shimura affirmed Japan's commitment to continuing its support for dialogue and cooperation with Libya and exploring new partnership opportunities in areas of mutual interest.
The embassy explained that the meeting was also attended by the Head of the Executive Team for the Prime Minister's Initiatives and Strategic Projects, Mustafa Al-Manea, and the Director of the Department of Asian and Australian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hassan Ben Rabha.
