Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency in Al-Butnan Deals with 228 Illegal Immigrants

Tobruk, May 21, 2026 (LANA) – The Al-Butnan branch of the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency continued its field operations as part of the security plan aimed at combating illegal immigration and enhancing security and stability.

The branch explained that its personnel dealt with 228 illegal immigrants. A number of them were transferred to the Qanfuda Detention and Repatriation Center, while the deportation procedures for the remaining group were completed through the deportation unit at the border crossing, in accordance with the laws and regulations governing the work, and with full adherence to approved humanitarian standards.

The branch emphasized that these measures reflect the ongoing efforts exerted by the various departments and units within the branch to carry out their assigned tasks efficiently and with discipline, in continuous coordination with the agency's headquarters.

The branch indicated that it will continue to perform its national duty with all firmness and responsibility, and take the necessary measures to reduce the phenomenon of illegal immigration, in a way that contributes to preserving the security of the homeland and the safety of citizens.
