Austrian Oil Company OMV Opens Office in Benghazi

Benghazi, May 21, 2026 (LANA) – Austrian oil company OMV opened an office in Benghazi to enhance cooperation in the oil sector and expand joint operations in the region. The opening ceremony was attended by several oil sector officials, including representatives from the National Oil Corporation and the Arabian Gulf Oil Company, as well as the company's Libya office managers and several joint venture team officials.

The company explained that the opening of its Benghazi office is part of its efforts to support technical and operational partnerships between stakeholders and to strengthen direct communication, thereby contributing to accelerating the implementation of oil projects and improving performance efficiency in concession areas.

The participants in the opening ceremony stressed the importance of this step in developing oil cooperation and providing a more effective working environment that supports production, maintenance and development plans in the sector, considering the opening of the OMV office in Benghazi as a new path for cooperation in the energy sector, in line with efforts aimed at developing the operational infrastructure and promoting investment in oil fields.
