Al-Baour meets British Ambassador

Tripoli, May 20, 2026 (LANA) – Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, met today, Wednesday, with the United Kingdom's Ambassador to Libya, Martin Reynolds, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
The meeting reviewed the latest political developments in Libya, the efforts of the Government of National Unity to consolidate security and stability and advance sustainable development, as well as its support for the efforts of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).
The two sides agreed to activate joint cooperation in various fields, contributing to supporting and developing the bilateral partnership in a way that serves the interests of both friendly nations.
Both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening security and stability and adopting dialogue as a means of resolving disputes between countries, in accordance with the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The meeting also touched on prospects for cooperation in the field of exchanging experiences and enhancing academic cooperation between the two countries, in addition to discussing ways to facilitate visa procedures for citizens of both countries, and to activate direct flights between Libya and the United Kingdom, which would contribute to strengthening communication and exchange between the two friendly countries.
