Abu Ghaffa affirms the Ministry of Finance's commitment to the Unity Government's unified development agreement and its implementation

Tripoli, May 19, 2026 (LANA) – Minister of Finance of the Government of National Unity, Rashid Abu Ghaffa, met today, Tuesday, with British Ambassador Martin Reynolds to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the Ministry and relevant British institutions in improving public finance performance and emphasizing the establishment of disclosure and transparency standards, as well as combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism.
According to the Ministry's official page, Abu Ghaffa expressed, during the meeting held at the Ministry's headquarters, the Ministry of Finance's commitment to the Unified Development Agreement and its implementation.
The meeting also addressed, according to the same source, the measures taken regarding the implementation of the National Oil Corporation's operational budget.
For his part, the British Ambassador expressed the United Kingdom's full support for the Unified Development Agreement and all efforts aimed at strengthening financial and economic stability in Libya, indicating his country's readiness to provide all necessary assistance in this regard.
