Al-Kilani meets with Yefren Municipality

Tripoli, May 18, 2026 (LANA) – Minister of Social Affairs, Wafa Al-Kilani, met yesterday with the Mayor of Yefren to discuss mechanisms for strengthening joint coordination and monitoring social issues within the municipality.

The meeting, which was attended by several members of the municipal council and the head of the municipality's social affairs branch, addressed ways to support social protection programs and activate the role of social affairs branches. This aims to improve the level of services provided to citizens and ensure their accessibility to targeted groups.

The meeting also discussed humanitarian and social needs within the municipality and mechanisms for addressing them in cooperation with relevant authorities.

During the meeting, Al-Kilani emphasized the Ministry's commitment to strengthening partnerships with municipalities, considering them essential partners in implementing social welfare programs. She stressed the importance of intensifying joint efforts to support the most vulnerable families and groups and achieve social stability in various regions.

The mayor of Yefren praised the ministry’s efforts and its programs supporting deserving families, commending the humanitarian initiatives implemented by the ministry to promote social solidarity and expand the scope of social protection and care services.
