The UN mission, in cooperation with the Libyan News Agency, will organize a media roundtable tomorrow at the LANA headquarters in Tripoli.

Tripoli, May 11, 2026 (LANA) – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), in cooperation with the Libyan News Agency (LANA), will hold a media roundtable on the UN's mission in Libya in 2026 tomorrow morning, Tuesday, at the agency's headquarters in Tripoli.

The roundtable will focus on the UN's role in Libya in 2026. The session will include the participation of the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Resident Coordinator in Libya, Ulrika Richardson; the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme, Sophie Kimkhadze; the UNICEF Representative in Libya, Mohamed Fayyadhi; the Head of Mission of the International Organization for Migration, Nicoletta Giordano; the Resident Representative of the United Nations Population Fund, Ziad Nabulsi; the Director of Programmes at UN Women, Isadora Demora; and the Director of the Communications and Public Information Office at the UN Mission, Mohamed Al-Asaadi.

A large number of Libyan media professionals, journalists, and media outlets will also participate in the event to discuss and engage in dialogue with the UN Mission regarding the UN's activities and contributions in various fields in Libya.

The roundtable program will include a presentation of the UN's 2025 Annual Report, which will provide a structured overview of key achievements and results at the national level. It will also offer a platform for constructive dialogue between the UN in Libya and national media outlets to support accurate and balanced coverage and strengthen institutional communication with the media. The media roundtable will include opening remarks from the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan News Agency, in addition to presentations by the heads of UN agencies on their activities in Libya.
