Work has resumed at all facilities of the Zawiya Oil Refining Company following the stabilization of the security situation

Tripoli, May 10, 2026 (LANA) – The Zawiya Oil Refining Company announced the resumption of normal operations at all its facilities, following the stabilization of the security situation within and around the company and the return of complete calm to the area since Friday evening, in coordination with the National Oil Corporation.

The Chairman of the Company's Management Committee, Emad Ben Koura, stated that the company immediately began restarting the two refining units at the refinery to ensure the continued flow of fuels, including gasoline, diesel, and cooking gas, to the local market, thus preventing any shortages that could affect citizens' daily needs.

He added, in a statement published on the company's official page today, Sunday, that the company also decided to reopen the oil port and resume maritime operations to receive tankers and load crude oil, ensuring the security of the fuel supply chain and the continued stability of operations.

The company confirmed that it has begun a comprehensive survey to assess the damage sustained by some offices and storage tanks as a result of the recent events, and has tasked specialized technical teams with immediately commencing maintenance and rehabilitation work.

The administration also announced an assessment of the damage inflicted on employees' private property, particularly vehicles, as a result of the shelling and clashes. A mechanism is being prepared to compensate those affected or to repair the damage at the company's expense, in recognition of the employees' efforts during these difficult circumstances.

The company's management called on all employees to remain at their work sites and demonstrate a sense of national responsibility to ensure the continued operation of this vital facility. It emphasized the importance of accuracy and avoiding rumors and anything that could incite tension.

The company expressed its appreciation to the employees who continued to perform their duties during these exceptional circumstances, affirming that the safety of its personnel is its top priority, along with protecting its facilities and maintaining the stability of its operations.
