Tripoli, 5 May 2026 (Lana)—Lt. General Osama Juwaili, Commander of the Western Military Zone, met yesterday with the UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Hanna Tetteh, and her Deputy for Political Affairs, Stephanie Koury, at his headquarters in Al-Aziziya.

The mission stated on its official page that discussions covered the security situation in the country and the importance of advancing military unification, emphasizing the importance of implementing UNSMIL’s roadmap. 

Tetteh reaffirmed UNSMIL’s commitment to supporting a Libyan-led, inclusive political process that reflects the realities on the ground and promotes stability and unity across the country.
