The Libyan Chargé d'Affaires in Japan meets with Representatives of the Japanese Company JGC

Tokyo, May 2, 2026 (LANA) – The Libyan Chargé d'Affaires in Japan, Ahmed Salem Al-Naas, discussed with representatives of the Japanese holding company JGC the available cooperation opportunities in the oil, gas, energy, and infrastructure sectors in Libya.

The meeting, held at the embassy in Tokyo, addressed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation and intensifying communication with major Japanese companies, encouraging them to work in Libya across various sectors.

Al-Naas emphasized the importance of Japanese companies returning to the Libyan market and contributing to development and reconstruction projects. He noted the advanced expertise and high technical capabilities of Japanese companies, which qualify them to play a pivotal role in implementing strategic projects, particularly JGC, which has a significant presence in Libya's oil and gas sector.

The Chargé d'Affaires also expressed the readiness of the Libyan Embassy in Tokyo to provide all necessary support to enhance partnerships with Japanese companies.

For their part, representatives of JGC expressed their interest in the Libyan market and their readiness to return and participate in future projects, particularly in the energy sector and related industries.
