Qaderbouh discusses with Al-Zoubi and Al-Namroush the situation of the Ministry of Defense and the review of its final accounts

Tripoli, April 29, 2026 (LANA) – The meeting held by the Head of the Administrative Control Authority, Abdullah Qaderbouh, with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Unity, Lieutenant General Abdul Salam Al-Zoubi, and the Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Salah Al-Din Al-Namroush, focused on reviewing contracts and monitoring project implementation.

During the meeting, the general situation of the Ministry of Defense and its affiliated bodies, including brigades, departments, and directorates, was discussed, along with monitoring the progress of work and reviewing the final accounts of the Ministry and its various units. The aim was to assess the level of financial and administrative performance, enhance the efficiency of public spending, and consolidate the principles of good governance in managing resources allocated to the defense sector, according to the Administrative Control Authority.

The meeting addressed several files related to organizing institutional work within the Ministry, most notably training and qualification plans, institutional capacity-building programs, mechanisms for improving administrative and operational performance, optimal utilization of available resources, monitoring the implementation of approved projects and plans, and ensuring the integrity of contractual procedures in accordance with the procedures followed by the General Directorate for Contract Review and Project Monitoring. This aims to support the development of institutional work and raise the overall level of preparedness.

The Chairman of the Authority emphasized the role of the Contracts Department in reviewing and examining contracts, ensuring their compliance with legislation and regulations, and monitoring the procedures for awarding and implementing contracts to guarantee their validity.

During the meeting, Qaderbouh affirmed the Authority's commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at developing institutional performance within the entities under its supervision and consolidating the principles of discipline and governance. He stressed that the completion of final accounts and adherence to legal procedures are fundamental pillars for protecting public funds and enhancing the efficiency of state institutions.
