Al-Baour discusses bilateral relations and the political situation in Libya with Berndt

Tripoli, April 28, 2026 (LANA) – The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, met today, Tuesday, with the Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Embassy in Libya, Jeremy Berndt, to discuss bilateral relations and the political situation in the country.

The meeting addressed ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries, particularly in the fields of energy, infrastructure, education, and training, in addition to exchanging expertise.

The two sides also discussed developments in the political situation in Libya, the role of the UN mission, and current international affairs.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties emphasized the importance of continuing political consultations in a way that serves their common interests.
