Tripoli, April 28, 2026 (LANA) – Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdelhamid Dbaiba, met on Tuesday with a delegation from the American company Chevron to discuss expanding cooperation in the oil and gas sectors and strengthening investments in Libya.
The "Our Government" platform stated on its official page that the meeting comes within the framework of following up on the company's operations in Libya, which will enhance plans to develop the sector and increase the level of investments.
It explained that the meeting emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership, especially since Chevron was among the winning companies in the public bidding round for exploration investment launched by the National Oil Corporation (NOC) after a hiatus of more than 17 years, reflecting the return of investment activity in the Libyan oil sector.
The meeting reviewed the memorandum of understanding signed between the NOC and Chevron to conduct a comprehensive technical study of offshore Block NC146, in addition to discussing areas of cooperation in exploration, production, and the development of oil fields.
According to the platform, Dbaiba stressed the government's commitment to supporting partnerships with major international companies and providing a stable working environment, which contributes to transferring expertise, enhancing the efficiency of the energy sector, and supporting the development path in Libya.
