Libyan Army participates in the EFES 2026 international exercise in Turkey.

Izmir, 28 April 2026 (Lana) In accordance with the directives of the Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Dr. Salah al-Din al-Namroush, advance units of the General Staff are continuing their training at a designated camp in Izmir, Turkey, as part of the international tactical exercise “EFES 2026,” which is being held with the participation of several friendly and allied nations.

This participation is part of the biennial exercises, which aim to enhance joint military cooperation and familiarize personnel with the latest training and operational methods, which contributes to raising the level of efficiency and combat readiness of Libyan Army personnel and keeping pace with modern developments in military training.

The participating force includes elements from the Land Forces Command, the Naval Forces Command, the Border Guard and Vital Installations Command, the Western Coast Guard, the 111th Brigade, the Naval Special Forces (frogmen), the Supply and Logistics Corps, the Military Engineering Department, the Military Medical Corps, the Military Police Department, and several other units, all under the supervision of the Training Department.
