Abu Shiha discusses with Expertise France Foundation support for investment and strengthening the business environment

Tripoli, April 26, 2026 (LANA) – Minister of Economy and Trade in the Government of National Unity, Suhail Abu Shiha, affirmed that improving the investment climate and building capacity are among the ministry's top priorities during the current phase.

This came during his meeting today, Sunday, at the ministry headquarters with Maxime Post, Programs Director at Expertise France in Libya, in the presence of his deputy, Mohammed Al-Aswad, directors of relevant departments within the ministry, and several members of the organization's team.

The minister stressed the importance of working to develop and update the regulations and decisions governing this sector, in order to attract investments and enhance the business environment.

Abu Shiha pointed to the importance of supporting institutional capacity-building programs and raising the efficiency of national personnel, in line with economic reforms and contributing to achieving sustainable results.

For his part, the Programs Director at Expertise France in Libya expressed his appreciation for the partnership with the Ministry of Economy and Trade, affirming the organization's support for efforts to improve the investment environment and implement programs aimed at developing capacities and strengthening economic governance.

The two sides reviewed a number of projects implemented by the institution in Libya, which focus on supporting the investment environment, promoting green investments, supporting public financial governance, empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises, and aligning labor market outputs with its needs.
