Al-Menfi discusses with the French ambassador the latest political and economic developments in Libya

Tripoli, April 26, 2026 (LANA) – The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Menfi, met today in Tripoli with the French Ambassador to Libya, Thierry Vallat, to discuss the latest political and economic developments in Libya.
During the meeting, the Ambassador reviewed a number of current issues of mutual interest, primarily the evolving political and economic landscape in Libya, along with the most significant developments related to these issues, and international efforts supporting stability.
According to the Presidential Council's media office, the meeting also addressed the efforts led by Al-Manfi and the relevant committees to monitor and improve the economic situation, emphasizing the importance of implementing the unified budget to contribute to strengthening financial stability and enhancing the efficiency of resource management.
The Head of the Council stressed the necessity for political processes, including the initiative of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), to be based on clear legal and constitutional foundations upon which electoral processes can be built.
The meeting also touched upon the issue of unifying the military institution, with emphasis placed on the importance of continuing the ongoing steps in this regard to enhance security and stability.
