Pulbished on:

Tripoli, April 26, 2026 (LANA) – The National Oil Corporation (NOC) denied reports circulating on some social media platforms regarding the delivery of a fuel shipment that did not meet specifications.

In a press briefing issued today, Sunday, the NOC stated that it subjected the shipment in question to a series of additional tests and analyses at the Petroleum Research Center laboratories. The results confirmed its full compliance with approved Libyan standards.

The NOC indicated that the results were consistent with those of the independent international inspector appointed by the NOC and the supplier, SayBolt International, which conducted the inspection and examination prior to the shipment's delivery to Libya.

The NOC explained that these results were further confirmed by a quality certificate issued by the International Inspection and Services Company, one of the leading national inspection companies operating in this field.

The NOC clarified that the shipment in question, which arrived on a tanker from its origin, underwent a comprehensive evaluation by four specialized technical bodies: the independent international inspector, the international inspection company, the local inspection authority, and the Petroleum Research Center.

According to the corporation, all reports issued by these entities unanimously confirmed that the tanker's cargo of gasoline met specifications and was free of any contaminants harmful to the fuel.

The National Oil Corporation urged citizens and media outlets to verify information and obtain it from official sources, and not to be swayed by rumors.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the corporation directed that all relevant local and international technical certificates and reports be published on the National Oil Corporation's website.
