Tripoli, April 26, 2026 (LANA) – The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Menfi, met today in Tripoli with the Qatari Ambassador to Libya, Khalid Al-Dosari, to discuss bilateral relations and the latest developments in the political process in the country.
During the meeting, Al-Dosari reviewed the developments in bilateral relations between the two countries, emphasizing Qatar's commitment to strengthening cooperation in a way that serves mutual interests and supports stability in Libya.
The meeting also addressed the latest developments in the political process in the country, stressing the importance of supporting national and international efforts aimed at advancing the political process towards a comprehensive consensus that leads to elections based on sound legal and constitutional principles, thus ensuring the integrity of the results.
According to the Presidential Council's media office, Al-Menfi emphasized during the meeting the importance of building upon the initiative of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), ensuring its inclusiveness and its reliance on clear legal frameworks. He also stressed the need to advance efforts to unify institutions, particularly the military, and to implement a unified budget as a fundamental step towards strengthening stability.
