Tetteh: Libyan women are a fundamental element

Tripoli, April 26, 2026 (LANA) – The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya, Hanna Tetteh, expressed her pleasure at participating in a meeting with a number of women involved in the structured dialogue, representatives of civil society, elected officials, and international partners, to commemorate Libyan Women's Day and celebrate Libyan women.

In a post published on the UN mission in Libya's social media account, Tetteh said that despite the challenges and obstacles, they continue to advance and contribute to building a nation where peace and prosperity prevail for all.

She added, "My message was clear: Libyan women are a fundamental element in strengthening the unity and stability of Libyan society and making it more just. On the occasion of Libyan Women's Day, I extend my best wishes to all women across the country."
