Tobruk, January 23, 2026 (LANA) – The Libyan Red Crescent – ​​Tobruk Branch announced the rescue of (10) boats carrying irregular migrants, with (404) migrants of various nationalities on board, after they encountered harsh conditions at sea off the coast of Tobruk.

The branch explained that, in a significant humanitarian response, the Red Crescent – ​​Tobruk emergency teams immediately moved to the disembarkation points after receiving a security report about the boats. First aid and necessary humanitarian support were provided as part of ongoing efforts to protect lives and alleviate the suffering of those stranded, within the framework of a partnership project with the UNHCR.
