New York, April 22, 2026 (LANA) – UN Special Representative to Libya, Hanna Tetteh, stated that the mission was informed that the head of the interim Government of National Accord, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, initiated a cabinet reshuffle on March 3rd, appointing approximately 21 ministers and deputy ministers in about two weeks, thus expanding the cabinet to 32 ministers.

In her briefing to the UN Security Council on Wednesday, Tetteh added that all appointments must respect the provisions of previous Libyan political agreements if they are to contribute to the unification of the country. She stressed the need to address the differences between the parties and unify all state institutions, urging Libyan parties to implement the legislative reforms outlined in the recommendations of the Advisory Committee and the structured dialogue, following its conclusion in June.
