Tripoli, 22 April 2026 (Lana)—U.S. Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs Massad Boulos confirmed that Libya was among the high-priority issues discussed during U.S.-Egyptian talks within the framework of joint efforts to enhance regional stability and support de-escalation efforts in the region.
In a tweet, Boulos said that he met with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelaty in Cairo, where they discussed priority issues, among them the developments in Libya, as well as Sudan and Lebanon, emphasizing the importance of these issues in light of the rapidly evolving challenges facing the region.
He stated that these talks discussed the strength of the U.S.–Egyptian alliance, emphasizing the shared commitment to promoting regional peace and stability.
He added that they stressed the need for sustained diplomacy and cooperation to de-escalate tensions, prevent further instability, and work toward lasting, comprehensive peace across the region.
