The Libyan News Agency and the Arab Union for Heritage Media are organizing an international symposium on the role of media in protecting tangible and intangible heritage.

Tripoli, April 20, 2026 (LANA) – The Libyan News Agency (LANA), in cooperation with the Arab Union for Heritage Media, is organizing its first international symposium under the theme "The Role of Media in Preserving Tangible and Intangible Heritage in Arab Countries."

The event is scheduled to take place next Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Cultural and Political Salon at the Libyan News Agency headquarters.

A number of academics, experts, and specialists in the fields of media and heritage will participate in the symposium, including the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan News Agency, Abdul Basit Aboudia, and Dr. Yousef Al-Kazim from Qatar, who serves as President of the Arab Union for Heritage Media and President of the Arab Union for Voluntary Work.

The list of participants also includes Dr. Atef Nawar from Egypt, a consultant in digital transformation and cultural heritage; Dr. Moatasem Al-Mufti, a heritage researcher from Iraq; Dr. Ahmed Rashrash, a faculty member at Libyan universities; and Mr. Mohamed Bin Masoud, who is interested in cultural affairs and a researcher of Libyan cultural heritage.

The symposium will also feature the participation of several female academics, including Professor Rehab Al-Jarbaani, a faculty member at Libyan universities, and Dr. Karima Ibrahim Ghaith, a faculty member specializing in cultural media.
