Tetteh Discusses Support for UN Roadmap with Algeria and DR Congo

Tripoli – April 19, 2026 (LANA) – UN Special Envoy Hanna Tetteh continued her diplomatic efforts, holding a series of meetings to discuss developments in Libya and to bolster international and regional support for the UN Support Mission in the country.

In this context, Tetteh met in Antalya with Algerian Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf, where the two sides discussed the latest developments in the Libyan situation.

The UN mission stated on its official page on Sunday that both sides emphasized the importance of intensifying coordinated international efforts to advance the roadmap facilitated by the mission at its various stages, while stressing the role of neighboring countries in supporting these endeavors.

The meeting also addressed economic developments in Libya, following the signing of Annex No. (1) to the Unified Development Program Agreement. Tetteh affirmed that the agreement represents a positive step towards improving financial management, noting that its success requires the commitment of all parties to its implementation.

As part of her diplomatic efforts, Tetteh also discussed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Thérèse Kaikwamba Wagner, the latest developments in Libya and the region, focusing on the mission's roadmap and the progress made in the structured dialogue.

According to the UN mission's official page, the Minister, given her country's membership in the Security Council, reviewed ways to enhance the support of the African Group on the Council (A3) for the mission's efforts, emphasizing her commitment to close coordination in the coming period.
