Tripoli, April 16, 2026 (LANA) – Presidential Council member Musa Al-Koni commented on the United Nations report, specifically paragraph (15) concerning the Libyan Presidential Council, stating that it reflects a previous institutional context of deliberative processes.
In a statement to the Libyan News Agency (LANA) on Thursday, Al-Koni explained that the content of the report by UN Secretary-General António Guterres regarding the situation within the Presidential Council relates to a previous phase that witnessed institutional deliberations on a number of issues, within the framework of the functioning of collective bodies during transitional phases.
He affirmed that the Presidential Council has continued, in the recent period, to perform its functions in accordance with an approach based on consultation and coordination among its members, which supports the orderly functioning of institutional processes and contributes to overall stability.
He added that safeguarding and reinforcing this approach remains contingent upon the continued development of governing frameworks and enhancing the clarity of the mechanisms regulating the Council’s work, in a manner that consolidates institutional practices and enhances their sustainability under various circumstances.
