Libya and China discuss strengthening economic cooperation and developing investment partnerships

Tripoli, April 16, 2026 (LANA) – The Minister of Economy and Trade received the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Libya, in the presence of the Director of the International Cooperation Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry's headquarters.
The meeting addressed prospects for strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and ways to develop the bilateral partnership, particularly in the areas of investment, emphasizing the importance of leveraging Chinese expertise in implementing economic development projects.
The meeting also reviewed the outcomes of previous visits to the People's Republic of China, led by the Chairman of the High Committee for Supervising Libyan-Chinese Cooperation, and the resulting understandings that support the path of joint cooperation between the two sides.
