Libya and South Korea discuss strengthening economic cooperation and the return of Korean companies to the Libyan market.

Tripoli, April 16, 2026 (LANA) – The Minister of Economy and Trade received the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Korea this morning, in the presence of the South Korean Ambassador to Libya, at the Ministry headquarters.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and prospects for expanding the bilateral partnership, particularly in the field of investment. Emphasis was placed on the importance of leveraging advanced expertise in supporting and implementing economic development projects.
The importance of revitalizing trade between the two sides was also discussed, along with organizing economic exhibitions and conferences to facilitate networking among the business sectors and open new avenues for cooperation between companies and businesspeople in Libya and South Korea.
The two sides also discussed strengthening cooperation in the field of intellectual property rights protection, which would contribute to supporting the investment environment and encouraging innovation.
The Minister extended an invitation to Korean companies to return to the Libyan market and resume their operations, especially those companies that have previously implemented projects in the country, given their experience and expertise in supporting the development process.
