Ankara, April 16, 2026 (LANA) – Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, met yesterday in Istanbul with the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides and coordinate positions on regional and international issues.
Saleh praised the efforts of the Arab Parliament and its role in strengthening joint Arab parliamentary action and defending Arab causes.
For his part, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament affirmed the Arab Parliament's full support for all efforts to achieve security and stability in Libya, stressing that a strong and unified Libya represents a significant asset to Arab national security in all its dimensions.
This meeting took place on the sidelines of the House of Representatives delegation's participation in the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, held in Istanbul, Turkey.
Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, and his accompanying official delegation are participating in the opening of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), being held in Istanbul, Turkey, under the theme "Promoting Hope, Ensuring Peace, and Safeguarding Justice for Future Generations."
The House of Representatives delegation includes the First Deputy Speaker and Head of the Libyan Parliamentary Division to the IPU, Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, and division members Dr. Sultana Al-Mismari, Dr. Rabia Abu Ras, Fatima Al-Suwaiei, as well as Abdul Salam Nasiya and Ahlam Al-Lafi.
