Tripoli, April 15, 2026 (LANA) – Health, Safety, and Environment (HSEE) specialists, along with representatives from the British oil and gas exploration and production company BP, held an extensive meeting yesterday. The two sides discussed matters related to supporting the National Oil Corporation's (NOC) efforts to facilitate the return of international companies to work in Libya.
The meeting, held at the NOC headquarters in Tripoli, was attended by the NOC's Director of Health, Safety, and Environment and the Director of BP Libya. Discussions focused on frameworks for cooperation and coordination to enable the company to commence its operations in accordance with the NOC's strategy to increase production while safeguarding lives and property and protecting the environment.
BP representatives were also briefed on the NOC's initiatives to reduce gas flaring and minimize methane and greenhouse gas emissions, in line with its commitment to environmental standards and promoting sustainability.
