Tripoli – April 15, 2026 (LANA) – The preparatory committee tasked with organizing the upcoming workshop, "Libyan-Italian Relations: Towards a Comprehensive and Sustainable Cooperation Model," held a meeting today, Wednesday, with the participation of a select group of specialists and experts in the fields of foreign policy, international cooperation, and development.
The workshop aims to redefine the frameworks of bilateral cooperation to achieve common interests and enhance opportunities for sustainable development in light of regional and international changes.
Several topics will be discussed, including developing cooperation mechanisms in the economic, energy, education, and cultural sectors, the need to attract distinguished academic and professional expertise from both countries, and a review of organizational and logistical aspects, including coordination with sponsoring and supporting entities, and mechanisms for invitation and participation.
Committee members stressed the importance of the workshop producing practical and implementable recommendations that contribute to building genuine and sustainable partnerships between Libyan and Italian institutions and support cooperation across various vital sectors.
It was agreed to form sub-working groups to oversee the organizational and scientific aspects, and a timetable was established for upcoming meetings to ensure the workshop is well-prepared and executed in a manner befitting its importance and objectives.
