Tripoli, April 14, 2026 (LANA) – The Ministry of Health of the Government of National Unity signed two cooperation agreements with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) on Tuesday, aimed at improving health services and developing the health system.
During the signing ceremony, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Hospital Affairs emphasized the importance of this cooperation in supporting the priorities of the health sector, particularly in light of the current challenges that necessitate enhancing the efficiency of health services and improving access to them.
According to the Ministry, the first agreement focuses on strengthening primary healthcare based on actual needs within municipalities, contributing to a more equitable distribution of health services and improving the quality of care provided to citizens at the local level.
The second agreement aims to strengthen the health system, with a focus on maternal, newborn, and infant health, through supporting health programs, building capacity, and improving the quality of services provided to these priority groups.
The Ministry indicated that this step comes within its commitment to strengthening international cooperation and benefiting from global expertise in developing the health sector, contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and improving the level of services provided to citizens throughout the country.
