Tripoli, April 14, 2026 (LANA) – The third round of structured dialogue begins today, Tuesday, in Tripoli, with the participation of the security and governance tracks. The talks will focus on priorities for security sector reform and strengthening its governance, in a move aimed at supporting stability and consolidating state institutions.

The UN mission explained on its official page that the meetings are being held concurrently with the participation of members from both tracks. Discussions will concentrate on national security, defense, and law enforcement issues, within the framework of efforts to restructure and enhance the efficiency of the security apparatus.

This round is scheduled to last four days, during which participants will discuss core issues related to security sector reform, as well as the challenges facing governance, including the constitutional impasse that continues to hinder the holding of credible national elections.

The discussions will also address the root causes of the conflict in Libya, with a focus on the challenges of local governance, in an effort to develop practical solutions that contribute to addressing the root causes of the crisis.

During the sessions, participants are working on formulating actionable recommendations to be included in the final report of the structured dialogue, thus supporting the prospects for a sustainable settlement.

The mission stated that these meetings reflect Libya's continued commitment to advancing the political process by unifying institutions and strengthening a path toward holding comprehensive national elections.
